Requirements and Classifications
For a noise barrier, the following properties are generally required:
- Light transmission of at least 80% for transparent panels. Light transmission decreases per thickness, at 15mm, light transmission is 80.5% for clear sheets
- Flame retardant properties. The 8mm Vitroflex PC has been tested to the EN 1794-2 Brush Wood Fire Test and has been rated Class 2. This rating is also valid for 10, 12 and 15mm.
- Impact resistance according to EN 1794-2. Vitroflex PC 12 mm obtained the highest class for risk of falling fragments, 6C according to EN 1794-2 Annex C (400 kg of impact on the hard body). This classification is also valid for 15 mm.
- Sound reduction values of Vitroflex PC products. The values are valid for all types of Vitroflex PC solid sheets.
