VITROFLEX ACRYLIC MIRROR PMMA is a high reflection mirror that offers the lightness and resistance to breakage of acrylic (10 times higher than glass). VITROFLEX ACRYLIC MIRROR PMMA offers a precise reflection on small components, slightly decreasing precision on larger surfaces. VITROFLEX ACRYLIC MIRROR PMMA is mainly recommended for relatively small applications, such as interior decoration accessories, nurseries, nursing homes, visual merchandising, store design and / or where safety considerations require good resistance to breakage of the acrylic sheet.
VITROFLEX ACRYLIC MIRROR PMMA can also be used outdoors, as well as milling, drilling, saw or laser cutting, just like common acrylic.
Acrylic has excellent resistance to weathering, recommending the protection of the back face for greater durability. The mirror back coat can develop pores and / or rust spots in exterior applications exposed to severe weather conditions. The shelf life is not really definable and will vary widely with the severity of exposure to weather conditions.
VITROFLEX ACRYLIC MIRROR PMMA is a material 20 times more flexible than glass of the same thickness, it is recommended to evaluate the thickness of the material depending on the width of the area to be applied to avoid unwanted optical distortions. Distortion can be minimized but not completely eliminated (except in relatively small panels) by increasing the thickness of the mirror and installing properly on a flat, rigid substrate.
Temperature and humidity
It is recommended to install VITROFLEX MIRROR PMMA at room temperature to minimize dimensional change. Avoid installation near heat or humidity generators that could deform the panels.

Resistance to breakage: it can be 10 times more resistant to breakage than glass.
Cold bending: simple curves with a minimum radius of 1.150 mm for a thickness of 3 mm and a radius of 2.300 mm for a thickness of 6 mm.
Thermoformable: limited to straight lines bent with application of local heat by incandescent wire.
Easy to handle, scratch, power saw with sheet metal blades, and drill with soft metal bits or specialty bits.
It can be glued on the edge like standard acrylic.
Cleaning: VITROFLEX METACRILATO MIRROR PMMA should be cleaned by applying a soft damp cloth to the front, preferably with NETACRIL or equivalent to reduce the attraction of dust.

APPLICATION AND TIPS FOR USE
To obtain the best results, VITROFLEX ACRYLIC MIRROR PMMA must be mounted on a smooth, rigid, resistant and flat support, such as plywood, DM, plasterboard type plasterboard, etc.
The surface of the support must be covered with a good paint or sealant to avoid irregularities in the transmission of moisture.
The entire surface must be covered with a non-aggressive adhesive mass with mirroring or double-sided adhesive tape. For example, the neutral adhesive silicone type Soltec C300 is suitable to obtain a good adhesion on various surfaces without affecting the mirroring.
Another option is to drill oversized holes in the mirror and fasten it to the wall with screws. They should not be tightened too much to avoid generating marks and distortions.
Visual distortion depends on viewing distance and material thickness. A thicker piece of material will be less flexible and therefore maintain better optical quality. Proper installation and sufficient material thickness can reduce visual distortion but may not eliminate it completely.
Ceiling installations are not recommended unless the mirrored acrylic is mounted in frames attached to the edge and suspended from the ceiling.
Some adhesives contain strong solvent content that could attack the base coat. Putties and adhesive tapes must first be tested on pieces of consumable material. All tests must be applied at least 84 hours in advance to determine compatibility with the back, reflective coating and the acrylic itself.
Selection of an appropriate thickness is essential before cutting.
The material should be stored in a cool and dry place, horizontally and completely flat.
The protective film should not be removed until manufacturing is complete. Handle both sides of the mirror sheet with care during assembly.
